A little about me...

I grew up in a Catholic family where we attended church regularly. I am the middle child with one older sister and one younger brother. Although I never claimed Catholicism as my own, I grew up familiar with God and with Jesus and looking back, I can see how Jesus was “wooing” me and encountering me in big and small ways throughout my life.

I had my son when I was 19 years old and married his father the following year. My husband and I gave our lives to Christ a few years later in the fall of 1995. Shortly after I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and quickly began asking the Lord for His “call” on my life, wanting to serve Him in whatever way He might choose to use me. Shortly after, I responded to an advertisement in the church bulletin and started part time work in the nursery at my church. Over the next 10 years time, I would serve in 3 different positions of leadership in Children’s Ministries. The Lord used that time of teaching children and leading volunteers and staff to train me in the things of God, developing in me leadership capabilities and the faith of the children I taught.

Toward the end of my tenure working with kids and after many years of marriage I found myself going through a very painful divorce. Over the course of the next few years and in the midst of the Lord putting my life back together, I began to sense a shift in my calling. Prior to and after my divorce, I had attended several years of personal counseling of various types as the Lord used it to address the many wounds of my childhood and young adult life. Counseling became something I was very passionate about, and the Lord began to show me that if I would allow Him, He would use the pain I had experienced to help others through theirs.

As a single mom and after many years being away from formal education, I began an undergraduate degree in Psychology and over the course of 8 years, I worked in full time ministry to provide for my son and I while using my spare time to finish my education.

In 2006, I transitioned from kids’ ministry and began my work in Pastoral Care. I knew it was a good fit for what the Lord had begun building in me. I found Him burdening my heart and deepening my desire to help others and for future ministry opportunities. I went on to the role of Assistant Director and eventually Director of the Counseling and Care ministries at a medium to large sized church.

After many personal trials and difficulties, almost 30 years in church ministry, a Master's Degree in Pastoral Counseling and many other trainings and certifications later, here I am... Available and willing to help you, should you desire and the Lord allow.

I am thrilled to say, I was remarried in 2018 to Jason and we now have three grandkids and enjoy opportunities to serve the Lord together as He provides.

The adventure continues!
